Kick-off and technical meetings with Rwandan Air Traffic Services in Kigali. They marked the official start of our project to bring our Unmanned Traffic Management solutions to Rwanda.
Developing the new DroneKeeper product for drone operators in France. The service consolidates all regulations and airspace information in France from numerous different sources in a single place, and allows drone operators (single operator or bigger companies) to plan their flights, request authorizations, get up to date information on the airspace (changing every day) and follow their flight in real-time remotely (position and video).
We started from scratch to become one of the leading services in the country. It is one of the most fulfilling product I worked on at Innov'ATM (with the Counter-UAS solution) for its technical challenges and the results we obtained.
A team of 5 people from Innov'ATM, including myself, won the SESAR JU - Passenger experience hackathon in Athens. The challenge was to develop a solution to improve passenger experience at airports by leveraging data from passenger flow in airports. We came up with a solution indicating in real time the time margin the passenger had to take its flight, depending on the gate they had to get to, the waiting lines at security checks and passport control, and the time it would take to walk to the gate. We trained a model on the challenge data to predict the times and built a web app to show the information to the passenger.
It was a great experience !
Assisting the French Air and Space Force in deploying our Counter-UAS solution for multiple events necessitating a DPSA (Special Air Security Plan). The system integrated in the French Air and Space Force's command and control system, and was used to detect drones flying in the vicinity of the events.
We covered in particular:
We set the system up on the locations and provided round the clock technical support for the duration of the event.
Developing the new USpaceKeeper product for air navigation services in France to manage drone flight authorizations. The product was used by many airports in France and in particular by all airports in the Paris region, arguably the most complex airspace in Europe.
I later (in 2022, 2023) participated in the workshops of the U-Space Together program by DSNA (the French air navigation services provider) to define the implementation choices of the European regulations on U-Space services in France (the new types of airspace intended to integrate the new drone traffic) as part of our ambitions of certification as a USSP (U-Space Service Provider).
We joined an initiative lead at first by the French Civil Aviation to develop a Counter-UAS solution to detect and neutralize drones flying in the vicinity of airports. We developed a prototype in a couple months in our small team and demonstrated it at the 2017 Paris International Air Show in Le Bourget airport and deployed it in Paris CDG airport.
As a software enginneer, I worked on the development of the C2 software (Command and Control) that integrated and merged the data from the sensors (radars, RF antennas and cameras supplied by industrials) and displayed the information to the operator. I also went on the field for field tests and technical support for the demonstrations.
This project was thrilling for its technical challenges, operational context and the quick paced development of the product to improve it between each test and demonstration.
I joined Innov'ATM in Toulouse for an internship in the spring of 2016 at the end of my engineering cursus and then fully joined the company in October 2016.
My internship consisted in improving a 4D trajectory prediction engine for aircrafts in controlled airspace. I integrated new data in the engine (weather, airspace constraints, aircraft turn performance) to improve the predictions precision.
I later worked on our CDM solution (Collaborative Decision Making tool): it is a concept advocated by Eurocontrol to integrate information from multiple sources on airports (ground handlers, company, airport security, air traffic control) to optimize airport operations.
I joined the engineering cursus of ENAC (National School of Civil Aviation) in Toulouse (France) through the competitive entrance exam after my scientific preparatory classes. I specialized in the Software engineering and Air Traffic Management classes.
I spent one semester in the Technical University of Stuttgart (Germany) in the european Erasmus student exchange program.
I graduated in 2016.
